It’s funny actually when people excuse their wrong doing by saying ‘nobody’s perfect’. Well, of course nobody’s perfect. That’s the whole reason this life’s so beautiful and each of us is a unique miracle. Unfortunately, this has also become the perfect excuse to neglect our individual duty as human beings.
Personally I find it pointless to chase perfection for the same reason I celebrate the fact that nobody is or should be perfect. Instead, I believe that each of us as humans owe it to ourselves and to others to do our best to live our lives in a way that we cause as little harm as possible to others, while we stay as true as we can to our own nature. And whenever the chance arises, to perhaps even do some good as well.
This balance to me is what it means to be a human being. Whether we do this by upholding certain moral values or we choose to live by our own personal values, what matters ultimately is that we do less harm and more good.
